Our current projects make for an interesting life for our team. We are working to understand addiction more through a study of barriers to behaviour change and the use of machine learning. This project will harness data found on the internet to find out about the array of different barriers to making change a reality.

We are also doing work with reducing addictive behaviour. Our work for Ember Takitini is a first in terms of inviting people to work with an internet intervention with their friends and family. The project will be recruiting very soon so watch this space.
Evaluating an internet-delivered intervention grounded in lived experience for alcohol reduction: A pilot and feasibility study. Funded by Ember Korowai Takitini.
We also work with treatment services and have just finished a survey on gambling and gambling. The survey found that the addictions workforce is ready and willing to respond to gaming but they need resources and tools to do this work.

Our work with PGF Services and Salvation Army Oasis has created the first gambling screening tool in New Zealand that offers immediate feedback on gambling. Check out their websites to use the tool if you are wondering about your own gambling.
